Drink a lot of water and liquids before surgery so you’ll be hydrated; it will make it easier when getting your IV, too. As long as you have an IV, you won’t be able to wear your own tops in the hospital. Sleeping can be impossible in the hospital, so take ear plugs, wear an eye mask, ask for sleeping meds, etc. Chapstick is a must.
