Mar 16, 2024 · Effectively, it is the same as buying a bitcoin ETF, but with higher fees (1% when you buy and another 1% when you sell, so 2% total). If you want to own bitcoin, coinbase is better. But if you just want bitcoin exposure, buy one of the bitcoin etfs.

If you can, make deposits into Coinbase via bank transfer, and then move it over to GDAX instead. Coinbase is a good on ramp, but GDAX is where you should do the buying and selling.

Yes you are correct, the markets are mixed now. But please correct me if I'm wrong. It is still better to use USDC if only because you will get a 5.10% APY and it is better to use Coinbase advanced because you will pay less fees in each trade let alone pay the actual crypto price unlike if you use Coinbase simplified where they tack on a 1.00% spread.
