Mar 25, 2010 · The last couple of years of the ZR1 it ZR1 had the same 5th & 6th gear ratio's as the Z06(unless you had the PDE option). I wish my Z06 had the .81 5th and .67 6th gear, but my highway mileage would suffer in 6th gear, but I would have much better acceleration in 5th gear(160+ MPH) and still be able to hit 200 MPH at 7,000 RPM in 5th gear.

Oct 23, 2020 · All C6 Corvettes are 6 speeds on the manual transmission. 7 speeds didn't happen until C7. The ZR1 just happens to have a usable 6th gear because of ratios as opposed to primarily an overdrive gear. My 2008 Z06 fell flat in sixth gear, but my ZR1 kept pulling.
