The New York State Executive Mansion is the official residence of the Governor of New York. The Italianate building was constructed in 1856 and Samuel Tilden became the first governor to reside in the house in 1875. Guided tours of the mansion are available by reservation only.

It has since served as the home to 32 of New York’s 56 governors, to include future presidents Grover Cleveland and Theodore and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The small private home expanded over the years and now encompasses 40 rooms, 29,500 square feet, and 3.5 acres.
