NWSOC Mission: The NWS Operations Center provides timely Impact-Based Decision Support Services to meet the evolving needs of NWS partners and stakeholders and supports agency readiness by proactively collaborating and facilitating the exchange of critical information, setting operational posture, and briefing leadership.

The Office manages the NWS Operations Center (NWSOC) and provides liaison services to other partnering agencies. The Office is the lead for Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning to ensure organizational and management continuity.

The mission of the Radar Operations Center is to provide centralized radar operations support, field assistance, software maintenance, engineering and special-level hardware support for the WSR-88D units deployed by the Department of Commerce, Department of Defense and the Department of Transportation.

The NWSTG operates and ensures continuous acquisition and dissemination of NWS and other domestic and foreign hydrometeorological data and products. The central switching system of the NWSTG controls the exchange of data with remote locations.

The NWSOC acts as the general off-hours focal point for the ROCs and NWS Headquarters and follows FEMA’s Incident Command System (ICS) structure to enable surge staffing capacity as events unfold.

The Radar Operations Center (ROC) is a National Weather Service (NWS) unit that coordinates the development, maintenance, and training for the NEXRAD weather radar network. [1]

As the information technology center for the National Weather Service, NCO executes and manages upgrades to the NCEP model production suite, enterprise applications, and network services for the entire NWS, and provides 24x7 monitoring and customer support.
