Mar 28, 2024 · To be fair Hypercar is a solution to that. Hypercar is literally just the name for the top WEC class, it's not the name of a spec of car. It's already had 3 different specs run under it, and arguably the Aston Martin is a pseudo 4th spec. It's a shame they went with LMGT3 rather than LMGT to solve the problem there too.

Aston haven't released any images, real life or renders, of the LMH version yet. They are only allowing media to use images of the AMR Pro at the moment. Ian James told me at Spa the LMH version will retain the Valkyrie DNA but also have a more traditional race car look to it than the "regular" Valkyrie.

That was always the plan. What was unplanned was Lawrence Stroll buying Force India and Aston Martin and then branding his F1 team as Aston. From there, it’s bad marketing for both the car company and the F1 team if a rival F1 team is designing their cars, so they’re trying to distance themselves from Newey’s involvement as much as possible.
