11 hours ago · The Regent's Canal is a nine-mile man-made stretch of water connecting the Grand Union Canal at Little Venice to the River Thames. The first section of the canal from Little Venice was opened in 1816 and the final section at Limehouse Basin in 1820.

Nov 4, 2024 · The Great Orme was covered by a glacier during the most recent ice age, which lasted from 60,000 to 12,000 BC. As the ice sheet moved across the headland it scraped away overlying soil and some of the rock, uncovering flat limestone rock. Evidence of glaciers melting can be seen in the form of large boulders, or erratics such as the ones pictured here.
