2024 was a very, very good year for games, and although Xbox's first-party output dried up at times and perhaps lacked a certain spark overall (at least in this writer's opinion), the likes of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, CoD: Black Ops 6, Age of Mythology: Retold and Hellblade 2 still resulted in an undoubtedly productive 12 months.

2025 is poised to be a big year for the Xbox Series X/S. Though the console has long fallen behind the PS5 in terms of exclusives, 2025 will bring some very promising first-party releases to the Xbox Series X/S.

This Insomniac Games title leans heavily into humor, packed with fourth-wall-breaking dialogue and a punk-rock attitude that feels like a love letter to rebellion. For fans of action-packed games with a lighthearted tone, Sunset Overdrive is an absolute must-try.

Xbox ended the year extremely strong, dropping three exclusive bangers in a row: STALKER 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and my personal vote for Game of the Year in 2024 and the game that I think is the best Xbox exclusive in years,
