South Africa's second biggest political party launched a legal challenge Monday against a new land expropriation law that was roundly criticized by U.S. President Donald Trump as a rights violation against a white minority and prompted him to cut all funding to the country.

Swedish police said on Tuesday they had apprehended one person in the Stockholm area on suspicion of preparing terrorist crimes in a case concerning violent Islamist extremism.

Trump and his allies have targeted South Africa, promoting the false narrative that white people are being mistreated by the nation’s post-apartheid government.
