STUART − Marvin Fitzgerald Hall was fatally stabbed on New Year's Day following a drug buy for crack cocaine that went wrong, according to recently-released law enforcement records. Slater Lee Baker, 49, who was charged with first-degree murder in Hall's death, told detectives he's known Hall for about a year, according to his arrest affidavit.

An arrest has been made in the deadly stabbing that happened at a park in Stuart on New Year's Day. The Stuart Police Department (SPD) said officers responded to a report of a stabbing at Smith Turner Park,
