(WJW) – Lingering snow and bitterly cold temperatures have prompted some school closings and delays. Most are reported in FOX 8’s south and west viewing areas, such as Ashland, Carroll, Holmes, Tuscarawas, and Wayne counties. CLICK HERE to see the complete list.

Wichita Falls ISD, other school districts and Midwestern State University have announced closings or delayed start times for Friday. Note that districts often change their original plans on short notice due to weather concerns. Chillicothe ISD: Two hour delayed start.

Wichita Public Schools announced that schools will be closed on Friday, Jan. 10, due to weather conditions. All non-attendance centers and district offices will be closed as well. This closing comes after portions of central and south central Kansas were upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning Thursday evening.

School districts in and around Louisville are expected to announce plans for Friday as another round of snow showers approach Kentucky, just days after Winter Storm Blair brought snow and ice accumulations to the commonwealth.
