Which then brings up another issue with George: his lack of drives and shot attempts at the rim. Per Cleaning the Glass, George is only taking 16% of his shot attempts at the rim in 2024-25 which is the lowest number of his career. One has to wonder if George is still finding his niche or if the knee is bothering him and limiting him a bit.

Nurse has preached patience. George has experience dealing with a similar situation in Los Angeles, where he was teammates with the frequently unavailable Kawhi Leonard. Maxey, as is the point guard’s default, framed it in terms of what he can do to help get George going on any given night.

Because of injuries to both players, the two All-Stars have played together in only 12 of the Sixers’ 33 games. On Saturday, Embiid finished with game highs of 28 points and 12 rebounds in just three quarters of action. George, who also sat out the fourth quarter, added 17 points, six assists, and two steals.

George dealt with a superstar teammate being in and out of the lineup while with the Los Angeles Clippers when playing with Kawhi Leonard. So this isn't new to him having Embiid in and out of the lineup for the Sixers. He just wants his star teammate to get healthy.

Paul George has been unable to find consistency as a shooter during his first season with the Sixers. A 5-for-18 line in Monday night's loss only made matters worse.
