The Athletic spoke to three NHL team executives —two current and one former — to get their thoughts on the hot-button topics in Vancouver.

The Canucks traded J.T. Miller to the Rangers on Friday, but that was the wrong move in the eyes of some players. Some players in Vancouver are not happy with the blockbuster trade according to NHL insider Frank Seravalli.

The timing of J.T. Miller's trade was a little bit odd. Miller was dealt from the Vancouver Canucks to the New York Rangers just a couple weeks before the 4 Nations Face-Off. Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin made clear that this upcoming tournament had nothing to do with the timing of the Miller trade.
