Arsenal have completed their first major signing of the 2025/26 summer transfer window with Martin Zubimendi finally landing from Real Sociedad. Martin Zubimendi has explained why he has signed for Arsenal just under a year after rejecting the opportunity to move to Liverpool. The 26-year-old officially became a Gunners player over the weekend.

Some believe Zubimendi will be a great signing, but according to Troy Deeney, speaking on TalkSPORT, the Spanish midfielder is lacking in two key areas. Deeney reckons that Zubimendi is lacking in both energy and defensive awareness, claiming that he thinks those areas will be a problem for Arsenal.
