A new area in the southwest Caribbean Sea is being monitored for tropical development. There is a 90% chance of development over the next several days. A broad low-pressure system can form in the southwest Caribbean Sea.

A broad area of low-pressure over the central Caribbean Sea is producing disorganized showers and storms. The NHC has tagged the area as Invest 99-L. A tropical depression is expected to form within a couple of days and move slowly westward through the western Caribbean into early next week.
