Elon Musk on Wednesday unveiled Grok 4, a new version of his X platform's AI chatbot. The update comes a day after the bot posted antisemitic content on the social media network. Musk introduced the new model in a livestream on X late Wednesday, calling Grok 4 "the smartest AI in the world."

Musk's announcement comes hours after xAI debuted its latest flagship AI model, Grok 4. The 54-year-old discussed the recent innovation during a nearly hour-long livestream shared on xAI's X page, during which he did not mention the chatbot's integration into Tesla vehicles.

Grok 4 is xAI’s most advanced model yet, but early praise is clashing with old scandals and fresh tests of its limits.

On Tuesday July 8, X (née Twitter) was forced to switch off the social media platform’s in-built AI, Grok, after it declared itself to be a robot version of Hitler, spewing antisemitic hate and racist conspiracy theories. This followed X owner Elon Musk’s declaration over the weekend that he was insisting Grok be less “politically correct.”

Grok, the artificial intelligence bot native to Elon Musk’s X platform, delivered a long series of antisemitic replies Tuesday following a reported update in which it was told to embrace the “politically incorrect.” The bot took the suggestion and ran with it, ultimately devolving into praise for Adolf Hitler.
