There is snow in the weather forecast for Boston and parts of Massachusetts Friday and it could stick around awhile.

Worcester will see snow from 6 to 10 a.m., Boston from 8 to 11 a.m. and parts of the Cape will see a mix and rain from 10 a.m. to noon. “Most of our snow is falling in southern New Hampshire and western Massachusetts but its cold enough to snow,” Meteorologist Shiri Spear said in her morning forecast.

A widespread coating to 3 inches of snow is in the forecast for Massachusetts over the next 36 hours. The immediate Boston area, North Shore, South Shore, South Coast and Cape Cod can expect between a coating to 2 inches of snow. The forecast calls for 1 to 3 inches of snow in Central Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.
