Xbox now supports external USB hard drives larger than 16TB. Drives formatted on the Xbox Series X|S will be split into multiple partitions, allowing you to utilize all the available storage for games and apps. These partitions will show up as separate devices in the storage devices list, so you can easily manage your library.
Xbox Series X Will Soon Work With External Drives As Big As 16 TB
As explained in this FAQ, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will work with any storage device, as long as it uses the USB3.1 protocol and has a minimum of 128 GB in storage.
