John Lennon's older son Julian Lennon opens up in a new interview about how he hasn't felt connected to the Beatles throughout his life, telling 'The Guardian': 'I’m not part of the inner circle — I never have been.

But his last album, 2022’s “Jude,” was indeed a reference to “Hey Jude,” the 1968 No. 1 hit by The Beatles. Paul McCartney originally wrote the song “Hey Jules” — a reference to Julian’s nickname — to comfort John’s young son after his father left his mother for Ono.

Julian Lennon said he was never told about Beatles projects as he wasn’t in the band’s inner circle, and revealed a heartbreaking career moment in January 2025.
