Leonardo da Vinci's famed "Mona Lisa" portrait is getting a new home at Paris' Louvre while the museum undergoes renovations.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced Tuesday that the Mona Lisa will get its own dedicated room inside the Louvre museum, which he said will be renovated and expanded in a major overhaul that will take years to complete.

One of the most famous paintings in the world, the Mona Lisa, is getting its own room in the Louvre, the museum it lives in in Paris. French President Emmanuel Macron said he was "humbled" to be standing in front of Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece and announced the painting would be getting its own "special space".
