Chicago Red Stars goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher was voted the 2024 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, edging out Naomi Girma with 40.8% of the vote.

Known for her unflappable demeanor, the 36-year-old Naeher is just the second goalkeeper to win the annual award after Hope Solo in 2009.

After backstopping her country to the Olympic gold medal in Paris last summer, veteran goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher was voted U.S. Soccer's Female Player of 2024.

Chicago Stars FC goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher was named the 2024 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year. The award comes after a banner year in which Naeher, 36, led the USWNT to Olympic Gold and retired from international play.

The Penn State product won 13 of her 18 games and had 11 shutouts in her final year playing for the national team, including the run to the Olympic gold medal.
