COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football has hired Miguel Patrick as a defensive quality control coach, as first reported by On3. The move was confirmed by Patrick whose updated X profile reflects the new position.

Ohio State officially announces the hirings of Matt Patricia and Tyler Bowen and promotions of Brian Hartline, Keenan Bailey, Billy Fessler, Tim Walton and Matt Guerrieri.

Ohio State football lost numerous coaches throughout the last few months. It will add one back with former UCLA assistant Tony Washington Jr.

It's a move to bring considerable coaching experience to Smith's first Ohio U staff; Woods owns experience at perennial power Oklahoma, as well as pro work with the XFL's Dallas Renegages as well as at the Big 12's Kansas Jayhawks.
