At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in February, Musk pranced around on stage with a chain saw he received from Argentina‘s President Javier Milei. The chain saw became a political lightning rod after Musk declared it was "the chainsaw for bureaucracy."

This week, Trump has said Musk would have to "close up shop and head back home to South Africa" if he halted government subsidies to his companies, and then later added that his administration would "have to take a look" at deporting Musk.
