The wife of Anthony Leonard Platt, the man better known as Atlanta hip-hop icon DJ Unk, has revealed the cause of his death.

The rapper and DJ, who died over the weekend at 43, was the biggest hit for the indie label Big Oomp Records. Its brief but shining moment injected fun back into a scene in transition.

ATLANTA -- The cause of death for DJ Unk, the Atlanta rapper known for 2000s hit songs “Walk It Out” and “2 Step,” has been revealed days after his death on Jan. 24 at age 43.
