Vanderbilt came away with a 45-38 win over Auburn Saturday in overtime. It was a game marked by stellar offense on both sides, with both defenses struggling to find a footing. Vanderbilt went into halftime down 20-10, but came out the second half ready to attack the Auburn defense.
Auburn quarterback Ashton Daniels was crestfallen after his team failed to close out a victory over Vanderbilt.
In the second half, Vanderbilt played with a lot more tempo, which seemed to throw Auburn off defensively. There was no better example of that than its second touchdown of the second half, where a receiver ended up wide open with a clear path to the endzone after Auburn struggled to get lined up and busted a coverage.
The Auburn Tigers' offense was unleashed to its full potential for the first time since starting conference play against Vanderbilt despite a 45-38 loss in overtime. Everyone was in sync, scoring points and playmakers getting the ball in their hands.
Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia had a career day to help the Commodores hold off a new-look Auburn side in overtime.
