Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron is stepping back from the band after nearly three decades, he announced Monday.

The drummer did not give a reason for his departure after nearly 30 years from the Grammy Award-winning rock group.

He "has been a singular and true powerhouse of a musician and drummer," the band also said in a statement.
