The New York City dessert shop famous for cereal milk ice cream and its rainbow-flecked, frosting-rich birthday cake is expected to open this fall in Fulton Market. Driving the news: Pastry chef Christina Tosi has teamed up with Chicago restaurateur Kevin Boehm of the Boka Group to open Milk Bar's first Midwestern location on the first floor of The Hoxton on Green Street.

Milk Bar is known for its nostalgic and playful desserts that include cereal-inspired flavors and colorful cakes. Tosi opened her first location in New York City’s East Village in 2008. The desserts are now available across 12 bakery locations in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas, according to its website.
