The San Antonio Spurs have played the majority of the 2024-25 season without head coach Gregg Popovich after he suffered a mild stroke in early November. But even though he’s not on the sidelines, Coach Pop has made sure to keep tabs on his squad.

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich remains away from the San Antonio Spurs as he recovers from a stroke, but he is still in tune with his players. Spurs guard Chris Paul revealed that Popovich calls him after every game to discuss what the coach saw.

The calls come like clockwork, not long after the final horn after each game. Spurs point guard Chris Paul will look at his phone and see Gregg Popovich’s name come up. “He calls after games,” Paul said.
