The Children's Place shares plunged after the kids' products retailer significantly missed financial forecasts as customers concerned about economic conditions and tariffs pulled back spending.

The comments came as The Children’s Place reported $456.1 million in net sales for the three months ending Jan. 28, 2023, a 10.2% decrease from the same period a year ago.

The Children's Place has sold children's apparel and accessories since 1969. Its product range includes clothing for newborns, toddlers and children up to size 14.
