Reeves' plane fell from the sky, plummeting into the Brentwood woods, just east of I-65. He and his manager/piano player Dean Manuel were killed in the violent crash, at 4:52 p.m. on Friday, July 31.

In July 1964 Jim Reeves was found dead in the wreckage of a private plane ten miles south of Nashville. He was 39. But Jim's death was far from being the end of the story.

Jim Reeves, a crooner that stood at the intersection of country and pop, died in Nashville on Friday, July 31, 1964 alongside his manager and pianist, Dean Manuel.
