A man was found fatally shot Monday near his wrecked car on Shelly Street, Baton Rouge Police said. The investigation is ongoing and police are asking for the public's help.

Detectives said they are asking for the public’s help to identify multiple people accused of breaking into cars in a Baton Rouge neighborhood.

A man was killed inside a car on Old Hammond Highway on Monday afternoon, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said. Deputies responded to a shooting around 3:37 p.m. in the 15000 block of the highway. They found a man dead in a car. An investigation is underway and further details were not immediately available.

Deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office arrested a group connected to an attempted first-degree murder on Woodlawn Acres Avenue.

A man has died in the hospital following a shooting earlier in the day. The shooting happened around 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, when officers were flagged down about a single-vehicle crash in the area of Shelley Street and Scenic Highway.

Micah Wiley, 20, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count each of aggravated flight from an officer, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, resisting an officer, illegal possession of stolen firearms and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
