The Minnesota Vikings will have bigger needs on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft, but the chance to add the potential No. 1 skill position player in the class could be too enticing to ignore.
Rising second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy has yet to play a regular season snap after missing his entire rookie campaign due to a knee injury. Sam Darnold stepped in and had the best season of his career, but the last few games when the lights were the brightest yielded mixed results for the veteran.
Kevin O’Connell said McCarthy is progressing and has his sights set on being back on the field this spring for the Vikings.
