The $9.2 million Farmers Insurance Open is scheduled to begin Wednesday at Torrey Pines Golf Course, short of some of its star power by injury and illness.

World No. 4 Collin Morikawa as well as Nicolai Højgaard, Tyler McCumber withdrew from the Farmers Insurance Open on Sunday.

Matsuyama, the 2021 Masters champion and current World No. 5, is now the highest-ranked player in the Farmers Open, followed by No. 6 Ludvig Aberg. Others in the top 25 entered are Keegan Bradley (11), Sahith Theegala (13), Sungjae Im (19), Aaron Rai (22) and Tony Finau (25).

Next week, the PGA Tour stays in California but heads to San Diego for the 2025 Farmers Insurance at Torrey Pines.

Morikawa joined Nicolai Hojgaard of Denmark and Tyler McCumber in bowing out of the 156-golfer field at famed Torrey Pines. They will be replaced by Wesley Bryan, Hayden Springer and South Korea's S.H. Kim, respectively.

The field for the Farmers Insurance Open took another hit Wednesday when Will Zalatoris withdrew from the event about two hours before his scheduled first-round tee time.

Will Zalatoris is the latest star PGA Tour player to withdraw from the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California. Zalatoris pulled out of the tournament Wednesday morning before his first-round tee time. A reason was not given for his WD. Ryan Moore will replace him in the field.
