Goalkeeper Drake Callender became the fourth player dropped from the roster for the United States' friendly against Venezuela on Saturday. The U.S. Soccer Federation said Thursday that Callender has a minor muscle issue and returned to Inter Miami for evaluation and treatment.

They could care less about the noise that’s generated across comment sections and online forums that diminish MLS as a pipeline for the national team. The reality, though, is quite simple: January camp is not a collection of the country’s best players.

Just four members of the USMNT's January roster worked with coach Mauricio Pochettino previously. But players' familiarity with each over could prove crucial before next year's World Cup on home soil.
