Central bank independence is being questioned in parts of the world and greater political influence over policy could increase economic volatility, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said on Monday.

Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank (ECB), expressed significant concerns regarding central bank independence during her recent address at the Lamfalussy Lectures Conference. She highlighted that growing political influence over monetary policy could undermine the ability of central banks to effectively manage inflation.
