Kevin Durant’s trade to the Houston Rockets is official and officially record-setting. The deal got approved by the NBA on Sunday as part of a complicated seven-team transaction, one where a slew of other trade agreements got folded into one massive package.

Even though it's been two weeks since the Phoenix Suns traded star forward Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets, the official terms of the deal were slow to be released. That's because there was more work to be done. In fact, The Athletic reported that the trade would be historic -- becoming the first trade in NBA history to feature seven teams .

The Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James do not appear to be on good terms currently. Plenty of reports have come out that suggest the two sides could part ways. Some think a trade might occur. Others simply think that James will play out the final season on his contract and either leave for another team or retire next offseason.

His agent Rich Paul's comments after LeBron opted-in to his Los Angeles Lakers contract for 2025-26 made many wonder whether James is seeking a trade. There's also been a suggestion of a buyout, but that hasn't gained the same traction.
