And just like that… “Sex and the City” fans who visit Carrie Bradshaw’s famous Manhattan apartment have pissed off the real-life owner — so much so that a gate will be installed to keep them out. It’s been over 25 years since the brownstone at 66 Perry Street in the West Village was first used as the exterior of Carrie’s apartment on the smash hit series.

While the character Carrie Bradshaw showcased a glamorous lifestyle perched in a dream apartment, the reality appears to be more challenging.

The owner of 66 Perry Street – the building made famous as Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment in “Sex and the City” – does not care if you’re a Samantha or a Charlotte. She is not interested in your Manolo collection.

If you’ve ever watched Sex and the City, you’d probably recognize the exterior of Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment building. It’s a brownstone townhouse actually located in the West Village, despite her residence being in the Upper East side throughout the show.

The home, a stand-in for the exterior of the famous "Sex in the City" apartment, "is now a global tourist destination,” the West Village apartment's owner wrote.
