The Pittsburgh Pirates could look to trade star outfielder Bryan Reynolds in the early stages of his $106 million contract.

PJ Potter of Friars On Base called for the Padres to land a starting pitcher. He specifically called out 2022 Cy Young Award winner Sandy Alcantara as a pitcher the Padres should trade for. "Going after Sandy Alcantara might not be a bad move.

The trade would send Benintendi and cash considerations — presumably enough for the Padres to be able to afford his five-year, $75 million contract through this year — to San Diego for High-A pitching prospect Clark Candiotti.
