Tim Myers wants to make beautiful music with the state of California. The founding member of One Republic is vying for the office of lieutenant governor of The Golden State. Myers posted a series of photos on social media that feature media coverage of his political aspirations.

The bid comes after Myers said earlier this year that he was taking on a GOP stalwart in the California House of Representatives.

Myers, 40, a native of Orange, California, will run as a Democrat in the usually blue state and uphold a local tradition of A-listers trying their hand at politics. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the 38th governor of the state, got his start in acting, and Ronald Reagan, a California governor before becoming president, also dabbled in showbiz.
