At the core of Music For People Who Believe In Love is love lessons learned after loss. Today (April 25), Joe Jonas leans further into his romantically optimistic outlook on the project’s latest single, “Heart By Heart.”

Music for People Who Believe in Love marks Jonas’ second solo album, following his 2011 effort Fastlife. After that album, Jonas founded the band DNCE, which released a self-titled debut in 2016. The Jonas Brothers reunited in 2019 and have since released two records, 2019’s Happiness Begins and last year’s The Album.

The song reflects on Jonas’s lost love (who fans assume is his ex-wife, Sophie Turner), and the emotional bond they shared. Lyrics like, “If he don’t ever light your spark, remember, I know your heart by heart” suggest Jonas knows her better than anyone else, even after their breakup.
