Mild weather on Christmas Day will bring very few chances of snow across the country. The best spots for a white Christmas with fresh snow will be across the Rocky Mountains. Rain is expected to continue in portions of the South, while the West will get a brief reprieve during the day before another atmospheric river streams inland.

We're mostly clear this morning, although a few places to the northwest are seeing some snow showers as of writing. We'll hover around 30 Saturday afternoon on what will be a chilly and breezy day.

Hazardous crosswinds on area highways coupled with critical fire weather will result over much of western, central and eastern New Mexico.

A much more active weather pattern is shaping up for New Mexico. High winds and record high temperatures will return Saturday, but temperatures will be getting much colder stating Sunday with widespread snowfall possible next week.
