Tarrant County commissioners surprised the leaders of the county’s public hospital Tuesday by lowering its tax rate to 18.25 cents per $100 of assessed value, down from the previously planned rate of 18.75 cents.

Tarrant County commissioners have set the hospital district’s tax rate at $0.1825 after previously proposing a rate of $0.1875 for 2025.

Commissioners continue to question $35 million in annual funding to Dell Medical School, express concern about relationship with CommUnity Care.

County commissioners will make about $214,000 a year, and the county judge will make about $224,000 after a 3% raise.
