Lenny Randle, a 12-year major league veteran who once punched his manager and also got down on his hands and knees on the infield grass to blow a baseball foul during a game, died Dec. 29. He was 75.

Former major league utility player Lenny Randle has passed away at 75. The National Baseball Hall of Fame confirmed the news on Monday evening.

Randle, along with being known as a member of the first Texas Ranger squad in 1972, was well known for his multiple skirmishes as a Ranger. In 1974 during a game against Cleveland, Randle was hit by a pitch thrown by Cleveland’s Matt Wilcox.

Randle's passing was announced by his former team the Mariners late Monday night, with Seattle representing the final stop of his MLB career. The third baseman, second baseman and outfielder made his MLB debut in 1971 with the then-Washington Senators after being drafted by the organization a year earlier.
