New York Jets coach Aaron Glenn has made the first significant hire for his new coaching staff, agreeing to terms with Steve Wilks to become the defensive coordinator, league sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Wednesday.

The New York Jets have agreed to bring on former NFL head coach Steve Wilks as the team’s defensive coordinator under coach Aaron Glenn, according to a league source.

Glenn, who was the Lions' defensive coordinator the past four seasons, said he would not be calling the defense for the Jets. Wilks has done the job and has head coaching experience.
