The Seahawks did manage to get a stop and get the ball back with 61 seconds left, but the comeback attempt was short lived. A false start penalty on Abe Lucas knocked Seattle back to the 12-yard line, and one play later, it was over on a Geno Smith desperation pass that was picked off.

A rough finish to the season has now eliminated the Seattle Seahawks from playoff contention. After claiming sole possession of first place in the NFC West in Week 14, Seattle is now out of contention entirely by way of the Washington Commanders’ 30-24 overtime victory against the Falcons on Sunday Night Football.
