Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered the deployment of the Texas Tactical Border Froce to the Rio Grande Valley to help the U.S. Border Patrol secure the border under the new Trump Administration. According to the Office of the Texas Governor,

It was a change from the Republican governor's legal battles with the Biden administration. Abbott spent the last four years testing a state's ability to enforce immigration law — at times at odds with Border Patrol.
