The 76ers were without their perennial All-Star center Joel Embiid, his backup Andre Drummond, and their wise elder statesman, Kyle Lowry. The trio’s absence combined with poor shooting led to a 109-99 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

Oubre missed Philadelphia's losses to the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors due to a left hand sprain and entered Saturday's matchup with the Nets as doubtful due to the injury. One has to wonder if this could be a long term thing for Oubre, but coach Nick Nurse squashed any concerns about that.

Kelly Oubre Jr. has been playing his role at both ends of the floor just as the Sixers need him to in recent weeks.

Of course, any role player surrounding a trio of stars like Embiid, George and Maxey needs to be a reliable spot-up three-point shooter. Oubre has always been more of a high-volume three-point shooter than a high-efficiency one, which has its pros and cons.
