Disney made a major announcement about the shuttering of the Hulu app and the future of the service Wednesday.

Disney said it is "fully integrating" the Hulu service, which it now owns 100%, into its flagship Disney+ streamer.

Disney could eliminate billions in operating expenses by merging Hulu fully into Disney+ and phasing out Hulu as a standalone app and service.
