Everton are planning to send loanee Armando Broja back to Chelsea after the striker picked up an injury that will keep him out for 10-12 weeks.

There was brief hope that Armando Broja’s ankle injury was not as bad as initially feared but it looks like the 23-year-old will just about miss the rest of the season after all, as he’s expected to be out for 10-12 weeks according to the latest word from Everton.

Armando Broja's injury nightmare has continued on loan at Everton from Chelsea as David Moyes looks to move in the January transfer window.

Boss David Moyes is sympathetic towards Broja, who has an ankle injury that will keep him out for three months. However, Moyes wants to sign a replacement on loan and cannot do so without releasing Broja. After a home loss to Aston Villa, Moyes said: “We think Broja’s going to be out for somewhere between 10 and 12 weeks.

Unfortunately for the young striker, his day would end on a stretcher, with his right leg in an air cast, and everyone fearing the worst. The 23-year-old had missed most of the season to that point with an Achilles issue, and spent all of last season trying to get back to his pre-injury levels after an ACL tear cost him most of 2023.

Armando Broja suffered an ankle ligament injury while playing for Everton against Peterborough United in the FA Cup Third Round. The striker, on loan from Chelsea, is expected to be out for around three months.
