BioWare is being downsized as it focuses its attention on Mass Effect 5 General manager Gary McKay says "We don’t require support from the full studio" Many long-time Dragon Age developers have been laid off EA has announced it is restructuring BioWare as it shifts its full attention to Mass Effect 5.

Layoffs have hit BioWare as the company restructures to focus on the next Mass Effect game. Some of the staff from Dragon Age: The Veilguard have reportedly been let go, while others have been moved to other teams.

According to IGN, "a number" of BioWare developers have been placed by EA into other equivalent roles within the company. Howeer, a smaller number of Dragon Age staff members are also seeing their positions shelved, and are being offered time to apply to other roles within the company (if they so wish).
